  • Visit to the pumpkin patch

On Sunday afternoon we took to the kids to a pumpkin patch in San Francisco. It gave us a good chance to take some pictures

“you can never ever grow old” – Peter Pan

Evan got to run around and check out all the pumpkins.

In the end, he found “the one”!

There was hay maze at the pumpkin patch. Evan stood in front of it for 15 minutes watching the older kids go in and out, but never actually dared to go in by himself.

  • A gay Wedding – The Drowsey Chaperone

On Saturday, Oct 25th, dear friends Katy and Margo got married. It was a very special day for many reasons. The vote on Prop 8 is just days away, ceremony was performed at Congresswomen Jackie Speirs’ house, and by Jackie herself, and the house was filled with so much love and respect for what was happening there.

  • Fall day in San Francisco

We spent this weekend in San Francisco.  We walked to the Duboce Park playground  where we took this picture of Sophie.

  • Lay all your love on me

I am a bit behind in posting updates, so I have to go back to last week. Evan and Sophie got a visit from their mom on Oct 22- 23. It also happened to be a couple of days where JP had to be in Dallas! So it was a busy couple of days, but worked out well because Angela was around both nights to help feed, bath, and get to bed.

“Momma’s good to you” – Chicago

Its easy to see where both Evan and Sophie get their good looks, and in particular their beautiful eyes. One interesting note about Angela – she never takes a bad picture, and is always knows exactly where she wants to look as each picture is taken!

  • A weekend in the Country

Another beautiful long weekend in Fair Play. David took Friday afternoon and Monday off which allowed us to spend some great family time together. The weather is just about perfect this time of year in the Sierra Foothills. This first picture is the view from our back yard. Leaves on alot of trees are just beginning to change.

I see trees of green – Over the Rainbow

Also very interesting is that the Roses are starting to bloom again in October. I guess that is probably normal – but surprising to me.

A Rose is a Rose is a Rose – Bye Bye Birdie

Over the weekend, Evan had his first encounter with that time tested meal – Speghetti O’s! And sure enough – he loved them. We had to capture it on Camera – in which he also shows his improved spoon use ability.

    I love you I do – Dreamgirls

Here is a picture of Sophie at lunch at Bocconato. I’ve been waiting for this picture so I could use another line from our favorite Musical. You’ll have to watch the movie to understand. (if you haven’t seen the original movie with Mary Tyler Moore and Julie Andrews – its worth watching just for kicks)

Here comes thoroughly modern Millie now! -Thoroughly Modern Millie

Evan showing off his empty mouth so he can have more of whatever he was eating at the moment at Bocconato.

I’ll give you a few drops, if that’ll appease! -Little Shop of Horrors

For those of you that have never been to Fair Play. This next picture is reason enough to go. The Van De Vijver Estate winery is sure to impress you with great wine and even better fun and laughter. Robert and Missy pose for a picture below with David and kids.

When a persons personality is personable – Company

just because this is a cute picture..

Slap on a happy grin – Bye Bye Birdie

I am not sure what Evan was doing in this next picture, but it just cried out for a good musical lyric.

One Singular Sensation – Chorus Line

  • Maren’s Birthday

Great day spent with Family and Friends. Also happened to be Fleet Week and the Blue Angels were in town. Turned out to be great timing because about 5 days ago – Evan became completely infatuated with Airplanes and birds.

The theme was Kings and Queens!

Even Sophie got to dress up!

I overheard a great conversation between Dalton and Sebastian shortly after this picture was taken. I came in half way through the conversation and just heard Sebastian asking Dalton, “but who do you like better?”  To which Dalton replied “well, he is my cousin!”  – at which point I knew what they  were talking about. At any rate, Evan is very lucky to have a big cousin that loves him that much!

One thing that really surprised us was that Evan was willing to wear his robe/cape the whole afternoon!

Sophie didn’t get to do a whole lot of socializing with other kids, but there were plenty of grandparents and even a space just for kids under a year old!

Eventually it was time to blow out candles…

..and then back to the Cleary household. The parents got to socialize, and the kids got to watch “Home Alone”, which Evan didn’t really care about – but wanted to be in the middle of anyway.

  • Friday Night

Kathy and Brad came to dinner. We forgot  to take pictures, but we did find this one of Brad showing off some hardware from a Rolex fan get together. His daughter will be so proud!

    …Great Big Stuff….
  • and all I see is him and me forever….

    another morning at home…

    “Life is Dear”

We have to share this picture which we think is one of the cutest of Evan so far.

I came from the people, they need to adore me…

Evan is beginning to get the whole “smile” thing when a camera is pointed at him, and Sophie is always happy to look at one of her daddies!

cause you two, have me, and I have you two too!
  • Something for Everyone…

Evan and Sophie are interacting more and more. Mostly in a good way, but we see something new every day. Sophie is starting to really enjoy sitting up in her chair and watching Evan. Evan enjoys having Sophie around, but for some reason seems to be a little possesive about this little blue chair. Yesterday morning as we were all playing on the floor, Evan kept walking over to Sophie and trying to pull her out of the chair by her hair! It was the first time we had to try “turns”, which worked pretty well because within 5 seconds neither one of them cared about the chair at all.  (Until 5 minutes later)

I’m all through with promises, promises!
  • Long Weekend in Fair Play

David took Friday off and we headed up to Fair Play for the weekend with Nana and Poppy. On early Friday morning though we were surprised to hear that Wells Fargo had purchased Wachovia!

…the Wells Fargo wagon is comin’ to town…

I got this picture of Sophie on the drive up to Fair Play Friday  morning.

“your never fully dressed without a smile”

It rained most of the day on Saturday, so we all did a little wine tasting at Miraflores. Great wine, great tasting room, and friend Matricia make it a fun place to go!

    come taste the wine!

The sun came out on Sunday, and I took this next photo on the way to get coffee in the morning.

    ..on a clear day….
